Sade sati
Sade sati phase and dates
Sade sati is the roughly seven-and-a-half year period when Saturn transits the sign before your natal Moon, the Moon's own sign, and the sign after it. Each phase lasts about two and a half years. This calculator determines your natal Moon sign, Saturn's current position, and which phase, if any, you are in.
Questions
- How long does sade sati last?
- About seven and a half years in total, because Saturn takes roughly two and a half years to cross each sign. Retrograde motion can make individual phase boundaries move back and forth across a cusp.
- Is sade sati necessarily bad?
- The tradition treats it as a demanding period of consolidation rather than a guaranteed misfortune. Astrologic reports the transit and its dates; it does not predict outcomes.
