- Why is my Vedic moon sign different from what other sites show?
- Most Western sites use the tropical zodiac. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which currently differs by roughly 24 degrees. That gap is enough to move the Moon into the previous sign for a large share of birth times.
- Why does the Moon need an accurate birth time?
- The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day, roughly one sign every two and a quarter days. An error of a few hours rarely changes the sign but can easily change the nakshatra or pada.
