A kundli is a Vedic birth chart: a map of where the nine grahas sat, from Earth's viewpoint, at your exact moment and place of birth. - Is this kundli sidereal or tropical?
- Sidereal. Positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa, which is the standard in Indian Vedic astrology and the basis of the Rashtriya Panchang. A tropical chart would place most planets roughly one sign later.
- What if I do not know my exact birth time?
- Planetary signs and nakshatras are usually stable across a few hours, but the ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours and the house layout depends entirely on it. Without a reliable time, treat the Moon and planetary positions as usable and the houses as provisional.
- Which house system does this use?
- Whole-sign houses are shown as the primary system, which is the classical Jyotish convention. The engine also computes Placidus cusps for a chalit comparison. Both are explained on the methodology page.
