Ruchaka Yoga

By The Astrologic Desk · Editorial and calculation review

Ruchaka is one of the five Panchamahapurusha yogas. It forms when Mars sits in its own sign — Mesha or Vrishchika — or exalted in Makara, and simultaneously occupies a kendra house from the Lagna. It is associated with physical courage, command and a competitive, action-oriented temperament.

Category: Panchamahapurusha. Rule: Mars in Mesha, Vrishchika or Makara, occupying house 1, 4, 7 or 10 from the Lagna.

What it indicates

  • Physical courage and stamina
  • Capacity to lead under pressure
  • Directness that reads as authority

Caveats

  • Some sources require the kendra to be counted from the Moon as well as the Lagna
  • A strongly afflicted Mars can express the yoga as aggression rather than command
