Birth chart report—PDF, Markdown, and what's inside

Everything you need before ordering: what a natal chart is, how Astrologic computes it, what arrives by email (PDF + chart-context .md), and a section-by-section outline.

What is a natal birth chart?

A natal chart—also called a birth chart or horoscope chart—is a map of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It shows where each planet in the solar system (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, and others) was positioned in the zodiac and across the twelve houses of life experience.

Each house governs a domain: identity, resources, communication, home, creativity, health, partnerships, shared assets, philosophy, career, social networks, and the inner life. The sign a planet falls in describes its quality; the house it occupies describes the area of life it activates.

In the Vedic Jyotish (Jyotisha) tradition we follow, the zodiac is measured siderically—anchored to the actual star positions rather than the seasonal (tropical) calendar used in Western astrology. This means your Sun, Moon, and rising sign may differ from what you see in Western sun-sign columns.

How Astrologic calculates your chart

We use the Lahiri ayanamsha (the standard offset for sidereal calculation in Jyotish) and Placidus-style bhāva (chalit) for house divisions, alongside whole-sign houses. The Navamsa (D9) divisional chart and Moon-chart positions are also computed and fed to the report generator.

Your birthplace is geocoded from the text you enter—typically a city name is enough, though a more specific district or hospital area gives a slightly more precise Ascendant degree. Timezone is resolved from coordinates automatically.

The written narrative is composed from this structured chart output—each chapter is designed to stay tied to your placements in plain language. For full transparency on processing, subprocessors, and your rights, read our Privacy & terms.

What is astrologic-chart-context.md?

Alongside the PDF, we email astrologic-chart-context.md—a Markdown file with the same narrative chapters as the PDF and a closing JSON appendix containing your structured sidereal chart data (the same class of data used to compose the report). It is optional to use; some readers paste the appendix into a note app, research workflow, or an assistant for follow-up questions.

Important: Astrologic does not control or endorse third-party tools. Their outputs can be wrong or generic. Use the PDF tables and the JSON appendix as the calculation anchor; treat anything an external model says as unverified commentary. See the FAQ and Privacy & terms.

What's inside the report — section by section

Every section is generated from your unique chart data. The list below describes each chapter as it appears in both the PDF and the Markdown file.

  1. 1

    Chart wheel & planetary placements

A visual natal chart wheel showing every planet's position across the twelve houses, zodiac signs, and major angles (Ascendant, MC, IC, Descendant). Each planet and house cusp is clearly labeled.

  2. 2

    True self & personality synthesis

An opening synthesis that reads your Moon sign, Ascendant (Lagna), and Sun sign together to sketch a coherent arc of temperament, motivation, and recurring behavioral patterns.

  3. 3

    Nakshatra & basic nature

A deep-dive into your janma nakshatra—the lunar mansion your Moon occupied at birth. This section covers emotional temperament, basic nature, and the instinctual patterns that run deepest.

  4. 4

    Lagna archetype

Your Ascendant (rising sign) as a life stance: how you present to the world, first-impression patterns, and the energetic 'costume' you wear in daily interactions.

  5. 5

    Sun, soul & inner drive

The Sun's placement interpreted as purpose, themes around authority and recognition, and what 'being seen' means for this particular chart.

  6. 6

    Moon & emotional needs

Moon sign and house as the lens of emotional metabolism: what regulates you, what unsettles you, what genuinely feels like home, and patterns inherited from early environment.

  7. 7

    Love & relationships

Venus placement, 7th house sign and lord, and Moon—read together to illuminate your bonding style, partnership expectations, and what you naturally seek in close relationships.

  8. 8

    Career & money

Your 10th house (vocation and public role), 2nd house (resources and values), and 11th house (gains and ambitions) interpreted to reveal work style, wealth themes, and the environments where you're likely to excel.

  9. 9

    Health & wellness

Lifestyle framing drawn from 1st and 6th house indications—rhythms, constitution tendencies, and supportive patterns. Not medical advice; always consult a qualified practitioner for health concerns.

  10. 10

    Karmic life lessons

The Rahu–Ketu (north–south node) axis and its dispositors—interpreted as the arc of growth your chart points toward. What you're moving away from, what you're growing into, and how integration feels.

  11. 11

    Strongest motivator

A concise thesis on the single core drive that underlies most of your choices, ambitions, and patterns—distilled from the full chart rather than any one placement.

  12. 12

    Lucky colours & gemstones

Traditional colour and gemstone associations for your nakshatra and planetary placements—drawn from Jyotish folklore. Clearly labeled as traditional associations, not prescriptions or guarantees.

  13. 13

    Celebrities sharing your birth star

Public figures often cited in Jyotish tradition as sharing the same janma nakshatra (Moon's birth star)—a cultural touchpoint for understanding nakshatra energy through familiar examples.
